Hardwood, fossilized ivory carving, miniature replica of a pacific Eskimo kayak hunter. #1.This carving is composed of separate pieces of carved ivory set into a carved ironwood mask featuring a replica of an aleautig cormorant mask. The hunter has separate hands with a paddle carved into the left, and a marine mammal hunting dart and throwing board in the right hand. The hat is a piece of mammoth ivory; the kayak is carved out of a toggling harpoon blank sawed in half. Carved in 1987.
