Raven

From a broken birch branch on a wind-blown ridge, a solitary raven takes wing, riding the stiff breeze, skillfully dipping a wingtip, falling to the heavily wooded valley far below. Calling harshly, he tumbles, and at the last moment rises vertically at a rapid rate, only to tumble to the jagged spruce tops once again.
