Birds of Gull Island - Glaucous-winged Gulls
Detail below..
The Glaucous-winged Gull (Larus glaucescens) are typical of what we think of when gulls come to mind. They are a large gull, having a thick yellow bill and white head and breast, and dull gray back. During their first year, the birds are dull brown, and it takes aproximately three years to acquire their breeding plumage. Glaucous-winged Gulls lack the black marking on the primary wing tips seen in most gull species.
