Winter Birds - Snowy Owl
Snowy Owls often remain in the high Arctic during the winter, switching over to Ptarmigan as their mainstay. The Snowy Owl is a ground nester - the Arctic tundra is treeless. They will often nest among colony-nesting water fowl.
